what color is the tach wire on a 85 s10 blazer 2.8l

do you have a tach in there right now? from what i'm seeing red/white/black/green
red, switched 12 volt
black, ground
white, dash lights
green, is your tach signal, theres a spot on ur stock coil to plug it in with a spade connector..

no i dont have one in the truck right now but im wanting to put one in and the tach i have has a red, a black, a blue , and a green wire and i've never hooked a tach up before and i dont know what color wire the tach wire coming out of the coil is on the truck

based off of info above (found on another forum) would be the green one. my truck is a little newer. so i probably dont have the exact wiring. that came from a forum with a thread on the same year as yours.

what color wire on the coil would i hook the green wire too

I put a Sun tach in my 87 S10. I tapped off the white wire coming off the coil. Check autozone.com, and register your truck. They have wiring diagrams there. Find one for your truck, and you can see which wire to use.

it was the white one and i found a wire diagram for mine online at http://www.justanswer.com/chevy/10t5...-diagrams.html, it shows wiring diagrams for all engine set-ups and year models.
